Job Description: Recreational Therapist-MyMichigan Health Care-Alma Inpatient Psychiatric Unit Job Summary: Provides a full range of recreational therapy services including assessments, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in a manner consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. Provide recreational therapy services both independently and in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team. Education, Experience and Training: Bachelor’s degree in a recreation therapy program and certified by the State of Michigan. Must be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 30 days of hire. Must pass fingerprinting, criminal history check. PPD skin test required annually. Must participate in recipient rights instruction within 30 days of hire. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, evaluation and documentation of recreation therapy treatment programs Participates in improving the patients’ physical health and maintaining their safety. Maintains program patients’ medical records. Communicate and demonstrate a professional image. Adhere to policies and procedures of Family Health Psychiatric & Counseling Center, PC. (FHCPP) Adhere to policies and procedures of MidMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot in conjunction with FHPCC’s contract. Participate in clinical and administrative staff meetings, as scheduled. Ability to maintain effective communication with staff, patients, referral sources, etc. Additional duties as assigned. Level of Supervision: Supervision: Inpatient Coordinator Supervises: Students and volunteers in Recreation Therapy Work Environment and Activity: Works in a clean, well-lit environment. Must be able to move freely around the unit and medical center.
