ABOUT FiT Focused Individual Training is a private personal training studio in Los Altos, CA. We serve a community of discerning clients through individualized programming, consistent coaching relationships, and a team culture built around professional excellence. Our trainers aren't just delivering sessions — they're building the kind of results that keep clients coming back for years. THE ROLE As a Strength & Performance Coach at FiT, you'll own your clients' programming from assessment through progression, and operate as a trusted professional within a cohesive team. Your clients will rely on you — and you'll have the structure, support, and standards to do your best work. At FiT, the coaching relationship extends well beyond the session — our coaches are trusted partners in their clients' broader health and performance. WHAT YOU'LL DO Design individualized, progressive exercise programs grounded in each client's goals, history, and current capacity Coach sessions with attention to movement quality, cueing precision, and client experience Build trusted, accountable relationships that drive long-term client retention Document sessions and programming consistently — our notes inform client progress reports and trainer development Collaborate with the FiT team on standards, cases, and continuing development Stay current in your field and bring that knowledge into your coaching practice WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR Our ideal candidate is methodical and craft-driven. They program thoughtfully and with intention, and bring the humility to know when to adjust. They communicate clearly, earn trust deliberately, and care about what happens between sessions as much as during them. You'll thrive here if you: Think in progressions, not just workouts Take assessment seriously and let it drive prescription Communicate with clients in a way that builds confidence and accountability Hold yourself to a professional standard even when no one is watching QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of personal training or performance coaching experience (preferred) Certification from an accredited organization — NSCA, NASM, NATA, OPEX, or equivalent (required) CPR/AED certification (required) Degree in a health-related field (preferred, not required) Strong interpersonal and written communication skills AVAILABILITY Client demand is highest during the following windows: Morning sessions — 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM Evening sessions — 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday mornings — 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM If your availability aligns with these windows, we encourage you to apply and let us figure out the fit together. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Our full-time coaches earn upwards of $85,000 annually.
