Job Description
American Defense Solutions is a rapidly growing, veteran-owned security and defense solutions company specializing in ballistic protection, vehicle upfitting, security systems, and protective solutions for law enforcement, schools, churches, government agencies, and commercial clients. We are seeking an experienced and motivated CFO/Controller to oversee the company’s financial operations and support continued strategic growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and can manage both high-level financial strategy and day-to-day accounting operations. This role reports directly to the CEO and will be a key member of the leadership team. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and state/federal reporting requirements Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, banks, and insurance providers Manage sales tax/TPT reporting and government contract compliance Monitor job costing, inventory, and operational profitability Assist ownership with strategic planning, operational decision-making, and financial forecasting Support ERP/accounting software implementation and process improvements Develop and maintain financial policies and reporting systems Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of accounting or financial management experience Prior Controller or CFO experience preferred Experience in manufacturing, construction, defense, government contracting, automotive upfitting, or inventory-based industries strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and financial controls Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and/or ERP systems preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and adapt in a growing company environment What We Offer Opportunity to play a key leadership role in a growing and mission-driven company Collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment Competitive compensation based on experience Long-term growth opportunity Location: Phoenix, AZ Employment Type: Full-Time Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year Benefits Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
