The Chair is both the chief academic and chief executive officer of a university unit who reports to the Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, who is the chief academic and executive officer of the college. The Chair ensures academic programs are delivered with quality and fairness; undertakes hiring and evaluation of department personnel; and preforms budgeting and resource management subject to approval by the Dean and the University Provost. Data-informed and faculty-informed decisions should be the norm. Minimum Qualifications An earned doctorate in computer science, computer engineering or related field. Evidence of research in field; tenured at the rank of associate professor or higher in an accredited degree granting academic institution. A record of leadership experience within the profession or the university. Evidence of successful teaching in higher education. Excellent communication and human relation skills.
