Job Description POSITION TITLE: Chaplain REPORTS TO: Executive Director FLSA: Non- exempt POSITION SUMMARY: Provides religious and spiritual care and counsel to patients, their families, associates and others, with attention to diverse spiritual orientations and cultures. Conduct religious services, and assist with end-of-life spiritual care, all while respecting diverse belief systems. Chaplains collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure residents' holistic well-being POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Part Time (a part-time employee is typically scheduled to work at least 15 hours per week in a regular work assignment, but less than 30 hours) RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assesses, provides, and documents pastoral care to patients, families and staff. Provides appropriate pastoral care to the local ministry and community through prayer and blessings. Provides consultation to patients, families, and medical staff with ethical decision making and values while making appropriate referrals needed. Assist in planning, organizing, evaluating, and implementing the spiritual program with each local ministry in order to ensure spirituality initiatives are executed properly. SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma equivalency required. Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Theology, Spirituality, Social Work, Divinity, Philosophy, Servant Leadership, Pastoral Studies, Human Behavior or a related field preferred. 1 unit of clinical pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE required. 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE preferred. 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred.
