Woodhaven Recovery is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our team at a newly opened residential recovery community for adolescent males in early recovery from substance use disorder. This is a full-time, five-day-a-week position offering the opportunity to create nutritious, balanced meals in a supportive environment dedicated to health, recovery, and personal growth. The Chef will be responsible for preparing and serving lunch and dinner for residents and staff, beginning with about 15 individuals per meal and expanding to approximately 20 within the next year. As our program grows, this role also includes the opportunity to help shape food culture and involve residents in meaningful ways. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and serve wholesome, house-made meals that promote health and recovery. Design bi-weekly menus in collaboration with the Executive Director and manage ingredient purchasing. Prepare the breakfast buffet in advance and ensure all meal prep is completed efficiently. Serve lunch and dinner daily, with timely cleanup and a clean, organized kitchen environment. Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring equipment and supplies are maintained. Foster a food culture centered on fresh, balanced, and minimally processed meals. Gather feedback and meal preferences from residents, involving them in the process. Prepare meals for family days, special events, and community gatherings. Adhere to all health and safety standards in food handling and kitchen maintenance. Qualifications Proven experience in institutional cooking, catering, or the restaurant industry. Creativity and practicality in preparing balanced, healthy meals. Strong time management skills with the ability to prepare and serve meals on schedule. Experience with menu planning, budgeting, and purchasing. Knowledge of dietary needs and health-conscious meal preparation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Flexibility to adapt recipes based on seasonal and local ingredients. Valid driver’s license (occasional travel may be required). Why Join Us?
