Job Summary and Qualifications Responsible for the overall coordination of the Chest Pain Center to improve outcomes for the ACS patient population with the use of evidence-based practice, education, and efficient utilization. Responsible for the overall supervision of service to achieve the Mission to use evidence-based guidelines and a systems focus to achieve rapid identification, care, and treatment of patients with signs and symptoms and/or diagnosis of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). Community and provider education targeting the prevention of cardiovascular disease is also an important function of the Chest Pain Center Coordinator role. Provide performance improvement,, achieve fiscal productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established by hospital management. Responsible for staff performance and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accordance with corporate, hospital, departmental and safety policies and procedures, to meet both company and regulatory requirements. Responsible for oversight of Cardiovascular related Accreditation/Certification, to include, but not limited to Chest Pain Accreditation through the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care, as well as the coordination of related process improvement using evidence-based practices. Assists the hospital and medical-staff in meeting regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards, complying with corporate policies and procedures, managing supplies and equipment in the department, promoting teamwork with physicians and all health-care providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and ensuring appropriate resource management. Maintains continuing education and professional membership requirements designated by the Society for Chest Pain Centers Provides and/or oversees orientation, clinical instruction, training, and information related to the Chest Pain Center to various groups such as nursing staff, technical staff and the community Coordinates Chest Pain Center Committee meetings, including agendas, reports, and minutes. Oversees the tracking process for data related to throughput of the cardiac patients and provides data to the Chest Pain Center Committee to initiate changes as appropriate and to improve outcomes. Works closely with the quality coordinator to assure metrics are in place to show continuous improvement in the care of the ACS patient and for CMS data reporting, as well as other registry data Works in collaboration with the Medical Director in development of policies, procedures, and protocols related to the Chest Pain Center Works with the Medical Director to implement and maintain compliance with Society for Chest Pain Center accreditation standards Works closely with Emergency Medical Services to assure optimal continuity of care, from pre-hospital to hospital Coordinates and participates in community education addressing cardiovascular wellness, prevention, and disease management Represents the Chest Pain Center at internal medical staff committees and external professional meetings Directs the service in a manner commensurate with the service mission and the mission and values of the organization. Develops goals for the service on an annual basis that support the service mission and the strategic goals of the organization. Provide leadership and direction for productivity within the service consistent with organizational goals and objectives. Assumes authority, accountability and responsibility for the formal and informal direction of others within the service.
