The CDO will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for developing and executing multiyear fundraising strategies to support the organization's work. This includes managing a team of development staff and overseeing fundraising for the various entities within the organization. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, particularly at the $15M+ level, and will be tasked with building and maintaining relationships with major donors, foundations, and other partners. Essential functions of the role include organization-wide strategic leadership, major donor and foundation planning, and department leadership to ensure the team meets its fundraising goals. Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have more than 15 years' of nonprofit leadership experience, with a focus on fundraising, and a Bachelor's degree. The role requires a candidate with excellent communication, presentation, and team leadership skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be mission-aligned, with a strong commitment to the values of the organization, and will be adept at using data and CRM systems to drive fundraising strategies. Familiarity with both 501c3 and 501c4 fundraising is essential. The CDO will be expected to work closely with the executive team to integrate the development strategy with the overall goals of the organization and to foster a culture of philanthropy.
