The CFO will be a strategic leader, responsible for safeguarding the financial health of the organization and supporting a wide range of programs that enhance the independence and quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role requires a seasoned professional with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, a Master's degree is preferred, and 10-15 years of progressive financial and management experience, particularly within a nonprofit environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, and a proven track record of working with executive leadership teams and governing boards. Key responsibilities for the CFO include providing strategic financial leadership, overseeing all financial operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to balance mission, compliance, and financial sustainability, and will have a collaborative leadership style that fosters strong partnerships. A CPA or relevant professional certification is preferred, and the CFO should have a high level of integrity, discretion, and accountability, as well as strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The role also involves leading financial planning and analysis, managing budgets, and supervising finance and accounting staff to promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
