Role Overview The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the firm's day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient business processes, regulatory compliance, and scalable infrastructure to support growth. This role reports to the CEO and works closely with the investment team, and compliance leadership to drive operational excellence, client service delivery, and strategic execution. This position is fully on-site at our Scottsdale corporate office. Duties and responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee all operational functions including client onboarding, account administration, trading support, and reporting Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices Ensure scalability of systems and processes to support firm growth Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and improve operational efficiency Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to ensure adherence to SEC and/or state RIA regulations Support regulatory filings (e.g., Form ADV, audits, examinations) Maintain and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures Mitigate operational and regulatory risks Technology & Systems Management Work closely with the CTO to oversee portfolio management systems, CRM, custodial platforms, and reporting tools Participate in technology vendor selection, integration, and optimization Ensure cybersecurity protocols and data protection standards are maintained Client Experience & Service Delivery Ensure high-quality client onboarding and ongoing service processes Improve client communication workflows and reporting accuracy Partner with advisors to enhance overall client experience Team Leadership Lead and mentor operations and client service teams. Establish performance metrics and professional development plans Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (MBA preferred or CFA) 7–15+ years of experience in investment management, wealth management, or financial services 3–5+ years in an operational leadership role within an RIA or similar firm Strong knowledge of SEC/state RIA regulations and compliance frameworks Experience with custodians (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing) and industry software (CRM, portfolio management systems) Proven ability to scale operations in a growing firm Benefits $350,000 to $700,000 base salary (DOE) plus bonus 401(k) with a matching contribution up to 13%.
