Internal Posting Dates:February 4th, 2026 - February 9th, 2026 CHMC - Emergency Room RN - Per Diem - Various Shift - 12 Hour Shifts- Requisition 9237 Per Diem Pay Range:$54.88-$61.35 Job Summary:Provides comprehensive nursing services for unstable patients of all ages who require continuous surveillance and high-level intervention.Utilizing advanced critical thinking and technical expertise, this role involves implementing purposeful action during life-threatening events.The nurse must maintain a holistic approach, balancing clinical precision with the interpersonal skills necessary to manage patient and family crises in an intensive care environment.Responsibilities:Critical Surveillance:Provide continuous monitoring and assessment of unstable patients across the entire lifespan.Emergency Intervention:Execute rapid, effective clinical decisions and technical skills during life-threatening medical events.Care Planning:Individualize patient care plans by applying knowledge of human growth and development.Crisis Management:Use strong interpersonal skills to support patients and families navigating medical crises.Holistic Care:Maintain a patient-centered approach that addresses physical, emotional, and psychological needs.Professional Development:Complete mandated specialty courses in chemotherapy, critical care, and advanced life support within designated timeframes.Qualifications:Education:High School Diploma or GED.Licensure:Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.Clinical Experience:Minimum of one and a half years of medical-surgical nursing or similar acute care background.Specialized Experience:Prior nursing experience in an intensive care setting is preferred.Advanced Certification:Successful completion of ACLS and an approved critical care course within one year of hire.Oncology Training:Successful completion of CHMC Chemotherapy course within one year of hire.Safety Training:Successful completion of PMCS within six months of position start date.Clinical Knowledge:Demonstrated understanding of growth and development across the life span.Critical Thinking:Proven ability to use technical skills and sound judgment in high-pressure, life-threatening situations.The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants.It may be modified in the future.Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.Carthage Area Hospital and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center are Equal Opportunity Employers.Minority/Female/Disability/Veterans encouraged to apply.+Rate does not include any shift differentials.Location:North Star Health Alliance CHMC EMERGENCY ROOM Schedule:Per Diem, various, 7p-730a 7a-0730P.
