The Upper Perkiomen Valley Library, a branch of the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library, seeks a part-time (16 hours/week) Circulation Clerk.Shifts may include weekday, evening, and weekends.The Circulation Clerk is responsible for providing outstanding public library service to patrons, supporting activities of the branch by staffing the public service desk, performing clerical tasks, and assisting the Branch Manager and other staff with projects and programming.Duties also include greeting patrons; answering patron questions in person, by email, or by phone; opening and closing the library; checking in and checking out library materials; and shelving and retrieving materials.As needed, the Circulation Clerk serves as substitute staff at the main library, bookmobiles, and branches.The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, possess a positive attitude toward customer service, demonstrate personal integrity, exhibit a strong work ethic, and be capable of working independently or as part of a team. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous work experience. Good organizational ability. Good reading and filing skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to deal effectively and pleasantly with the public.
