Job Description
Job Title: Civil Construction Software Specialist Location: Westminster, CO or Dayton, OH, onsite Business Segment: Field Systems, Construction Empower the Civil Construction Industry as a Civil Construction Software Specialist! Ready to bridge the gap between complex civil construction designs and real-world field execution? Join Trimble as a technical authority where your expertise in digital construction workflows will directly drive the success of global projects. About Us Trimble is a global technology company that connects the physical and digital worlds, transforming the ways work gets done. With relentless innovation in precise positioning, modeling, and data analytics, Trimble enables essential industries, including construction, geospatial, and transportation. Whether it's helping customers build and maintain infrastructure, design and construct buildings, optimize global supply chains or map the world, Trimble is at the forefront, driving productivity and progress. Field Systems: The Trimble Field Systems segment provides solutions to increase precision and productivity in construction tasks by empowering stakeholders to collect accurate information and manage conditions with cutting-edge technology. What Makes This Role Great You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Civil Construction software workflows, providing advanced support, system testing, and training to partners and customers worldwide. Leveraging your industry experience in data preparation, takeoff, mass haul analysis, and road design, you will help bridge the gap between engineering design and field execution. You will support key office-to-field platforms including Trimble Business Center (TBC), WorksManager, and WorksOS, along with their integration with site positioning systems such as Siteworks, GNSS, and total stations—helping drive product success and maximize customer uptime. Key Exciting Responsibilities Take ownership of high-complexity support cases involving corridor design failures, mass haul discrepancies, and 3D modeling surface errors. You will act as the final point of resolution for issues that require deep industry experience, preventing unnecessary escalation to engineering. Provide advanced technical assistance on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires an evaluation of engineering factors. You will not just "fix bugs," but advise customers and resellers on best practices for data organization in WorksManager and TBC to prevent future issues. Perform system acceptance testing on new software features specifically related to road design, takeoff and data prep workflows. You will validate that new features meet the rigorous demands of active construction projects before they are released to the market. Develop technical communications including "How-to" guides on complex workflows (e.g., "Troubleshooting 3D surfaces in TBC"). You will be responsible for populating the knowledge base with expert-level content that allows Tier 1 support to deflect common but technical inquiries. Lead advanced training sessions and "Boot Camps" for resellers and internal teams, focusing specifically on advanced data preparation and the pre construction workflows. You will mentor junior support staff to elevate the team's overall understanding of construction management concepts. Essential Skills & Experience 2-3 years of direct industry experience as a Data Prep Technician, Pre Construction Specialist, 3D Modeler, Machine Control Site Modeling, or Estimator. Proficient in Trimble Business Center (TBC) or other industry-standard design/estimating platforms like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, HCSS HeavyBid or Agtek. Deep understanding of advanced surface modeling for machine control, data preparation, mass haul analysis, subgrade logic, earthwork optimization and volumes. Experience must demonstrate a deep understanding of how design data translates to field execution. Real-world experience in mass haul analysis, earthworks optimization, and volumetric computations. The candidate must understand the lifecycle of road design—from initial survey data to final grade—and be able to troubleshoot discrepancies in cut/fill data and material movement workflows. Proven ability to analyze and "clean" complex third-party data sets (DTM/TTM/XML) before they reach the field. Must be able to identify workflow defects where office software outputs fail to synchronize with field requirements, distinguishing between user error and software anomalies. Strong understanding of the connection between Office Software (WorksManager, TBC) and Site Positioning Systems (Siteworks, GN
