Humble, Resilient, Honest, Driven, Team Player, Emotionally Intelligent, Passionate, Dependable, Flexible and Accountable Position Summary McAlvain Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The Civil Superintendent will be responsible for the overall field supervision and successful execution of complex civil construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Management Safety & Quality Assurance Communication & Collaboration Financial & Resource Management Mentorship & Development Qualifications Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience as a Superintendent in civil construction, with a strong background in heavy equipment, earthwork, mass excavation, trenching, wet utilities, traffic control, and paving. Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering civil projects on time and within budget. Demonstrated expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents. Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and best practices. Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations and a proven commitment to job site safety. Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze problems, make sound decisions, and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint Vista), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and scheduling software is a plus. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. OSHA 30 certification preferred. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but not required with extensive relevant experience.
