Job Opportunity Position: Claims Supervisor Location: Baton Rouge, LA Job Type: Full-Time (Exempt) Work Type: Claims Operations & Team Leadership Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Claims Supervisor to lead our claims staff and ensure the prompt, efficient, and high-quality processing of all files. This position is accountable for maintaining high service standards while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the claims department. You will serve as a bridge between frontline adjusters and senior management, providing the technical guidance and leadership necessary to resolve complex claims and meet business objectives for quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities Team Supervision: Direct claims staff to ensure the delivery of responsive and high-quality claims service; monitor work assignments to meet established service standards. Strategic Planning: Assist in the implementation of claims programs to achieve goals regarding timeliness, quality, and legal compliance. Performance Management: Communicate objectives, monitor performance, and upgrade the skill sets of team members through consistent training and guidance. Complex Claim Resolution: Investigate and resolve unusual or complex claims; authorize payments within delegated authority levels. Financial Oversight: Establish reserves and make recommendations on high-value cases; review check registers in the absence of the Assistant Claims Manager. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all department activities strictly follow guidelines, contracts, and state and federal insurance regulations. Operational Productivity: Manage department coverage and productivity to maintain superior customer service standards. Qualifications Experience: Significant experience in claims operations with a focus on leadership or supervisory duties. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional business experience. Technical Skills: Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Leadership Skills: * Strong relationship-building, conflict resolution, and team-building abilities. Exceptional time management, planning, and organizational skills. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for cross-departmental coordination. Traits: Must be a self-starter who takes initiative, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, and works independently with a high degree of ethical conduct. Coordination & Reporting Reports To: Assistant Claims Manager. Key Contacts: Coordinates regularly with the Claims Manager, Adjusters, Claim Coordinators, Medical Services Unit, Vendors, and Claimants. Why Join This Team?
