Class A Lead Support Driver Baton Rouge, LA / Denham Springs / Lafayette, LA Salaried / Full-Time Travel: Required – (Get paid to Travel) Position Type: Full-Time | Salaried Compensation & Perks $75 Overnight Travel Pay | $50/day Food Allowance | Competitive Weekly Pay |$1,000 Annual Retention Bonus PEAKS Safety Program: Quarterly regional raffle: $1,000 prize/region Annual regional raffle: $5,000 prizes (4 winners) Annual Apex winner: $10,000 prize Job Summary:The Lead Support Driver will be expected to travel to various locations and fill in for regular route collection drivers to cover vacation time, sick leave, or other business needs. While the company strives to keep drivers traveling within their region, occasionally the driver will need to travel outside the region to fill open routes. This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others. Key Responsibilities:Loading, hauling, and delivering food waste on intra- and interstate routes with multiple stops ranging from 15 to 25 per day by routing determined by the Company.Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles per DOT requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.Operate manual or electric pallet jack as needed.Utilize a pressure washer to rinse bins and containers, ensuring all client locations are clean and free of debris.Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.Typical use of hand tools for basic repairs of company bins and equipment.Maintenance of basic truck equipment and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the equipment.Utilize the electronic logging system for DOT driver logs and as otherwise required.Maintain paperwork (contamination and service tickets, truck maintenance, etc.) and submit all documentation to the appropriate party.Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the safety manager.Minimum Qualifications Class A CDL License (self-certified as a Non-Excepted Interstate driver with the state of issuance)Clean MVR and PSPMust be at least 23 years of age and have a minimum of 2 years of full-time verifiable tractor-trailer experience OR 21 years of age with 1 year of tractor-trailer experience IF a graduate from a Truck Driving School or 1 year of Military experience.Stable work historyMust pass a pre-employment drug screen.Must pass a pre-employment Background checkAll drivers must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.Preferred Qualifications 5 Years Class A Driving Experience with no accidents or incidentsTime management and the ability to maintain route consistency.Communication and customer service skillsKnowledge of hydraulics is a plus.Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Regularly lifting, pulling, and/or pushing up to 70 pounds, bending, stooping, twisting, shoveling, or reaching overhead.Able to regularly pull/roll up to 300 pounds when working with totes.Ability to handle unpleasant odors from food waste/farms.Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.Why You’ll Love Working at Denali- Benefits & Perks At Denali, the work we do begins and ends with you – our employees.
