Job Description
Regular job duties will include the following:Provides front counter and telephone customer service, assisting with general inquiries, copy requests, and marriage license applications.Accepts and processes filings, fees, fines, bail, and restitution, while performing notary duties and record searches.Opens and manages civil, small claims, criminal, and minor offense cases, including assigning case numbers, issuing summons, and processing legal documents.Prepares bank deposits and reconciliation reports, serves as an in-court clerk as needed, and maintains court supplies, forms, and manuals.Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.An ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.The ideal candidate will have experience providing excellent customer service, outstanding work habits regarding punctuality, dependability, organizational skills, and the ability to establish priorities Ability to handle stressful and sometimes hostile situations with tact and diplomacy Experience dealing with high-priority, confidential, or sensitive information Experience in providing excellent customer service, both in person and over the telephone Experience applying rules and regulations when processing documents Experience performing data entry while maintaining a high level of accuracy Experience performing multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and remaining calm, organized, and accurate Experience working independently and as part of a team in a detail-oriented environment Work Hours This position is currently scheduled to work 20 hours per week.The work schedule for this position will be coordinated in consultation between the hiring supervisor and the selected applicant. This position participates in the Supplemental Benefits System (SBS), Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS), accrues personal leave, and receives up to 12 paid holidays.This position offers optional coverage for health insurance benefits.The employee will be responsible for paying one-half of the premium for the coverage elected.
