OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clerk/Treasurer to join our organization and oversee essential financial operations.This vital role combines administrative support with comprehensive financial management, ensuring accurate record-keeping, regulatory compliance, and effective cash flow management.The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, a proactive approach, and a passion for supporting organizational success.This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment where your skills will directly impact our community and operational excellence.Duties Manage all aspects of governmental and non-profit accounting, including general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Prepare and review financial reports, statements, and regulatory filings in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards.Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, account reconciliation, and monitoring liquidity to ensure optimal financial health.Conduct detailed account analysis and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records across various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial management tools.Perform payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely disbursement of wages.Reconcile the general ledger regularly to verify accuracy in debits & credits, ensuring precise financial data for decision-making.Support budgeting processes through financial analysis and forecasting to aid strategic planning efforts.Prepare clear, comprehensive financial reports and writing detailed financial documentation for internal use or external reporting purposes.Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements specific to governmental or non-profit organizations while maintaining transparency in all financial activities.Experience Proven experience in governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of regulatory reporting standards.Demonstrated expertise in SOX compliance, IFRS standards, GAAP principles, and technical accounting practices.Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial software integration is a plus.Strong knowledge of cash management strategies, account reconciliation procedures, and account analysis techniques.Experience managing accounts payable and receivable processes with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations efficiently while maintaining high data integrity.Excellent financial analysis skills combined with the ability to write clear reports that communicate complex concepts effectively.Familiarity with budgeting processes and forecasting techniques to support organizational planning efforts.Join us as a Clerk/Treasurer if you are passionate about maintaining impeccable financial records while supporting organizational growth through strategic financial management!
