Job Description
Position Summary The Care Support Specialist is a field-based caregiver role responsible for maintaining service continuity through reliable shift coverage across client cases in Connecticut and Rhode Island. This position is designed for caregivers who commit to a consistent weekly availability of 40, 32, or 24 hours per week based on selected status and business need. Employees in this role provide direct client care, fill open shifts, respond to call-outs, support new case start-ups, and assist with service continuity needs across the agency. This position plays a critical role in supporting client coverage, minimizing service disruption, and maintaining continuity of care. This is a benefit-eligible position for employees regularly scheduled at 32 or 40 hours per week . Employees scheduled at 24 hours per week do not qualify for benefits. Essential Job Functions 1. Shift Coverage & Direct Client Care Provide direct care services to clients in accordance with the established care plan, agency policies, and state regulations. Cover open shifts caused by caregiver call-outs, schedule gaps, client needs, or last-minute service changes. Accept assignments based on operational need during agreed-upon scheduled availability. Support continuity of care by working with multiple clients, cases, and schedules throughout the week as needed. Assist with new client start-ups, first shifts, and client introductions to support successful start of care. 2. Scheduling & Availability Expectations Commit to a regular weekly availability of 24, 32, or 40 hours per week based on selected position status. Maintain consistent availability during agreed-upon days and hours.
