Job Description
The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor is expected to ensure correct use of lab equipment, properly train staff on blood draws and specimen collection, and to confirm the most up-to-date recommendations and guidelines are being used. The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor will also ensure staff follows industry standards and safety regulations for handling and disposing of test samples. In addition, the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for making sure the lab is properly stocked and purchasing lab supplies when needed. Supervisory Responsibilities: · Responsible for the operation of all clinical labs of Pediatric Associates of Dallas · Supervises the Phlebotomist(s) · Trains staff and assigns/checks work of subordinates · Performs staff-related functions (i.e. hiring, firing, disciplining, training, problems, etc.) Duties/Responsibilities: · Manage reporting, monitoring, and resources for the labs · Adheres to specimen preparation procedures · Monitors positivity rates (ex. Strep, covid, flu, etc.) · Facilitate effective communication across internal departments by trending and reporting data · Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, budgets, and schedules · Establish and improve procedures and process by communicating across departments · Ensure the lab equipment is properly calibrated and routinely run controls for testing equipment that affect quality results · Monitor/keep supplies stocked by determining inventory level. · Ensure we are charging and getting reimbursed correctly · Ensure that environmental requirements are met at the federal, state, and local government levels · Implements new programs, tests, methods, and instrumentation · Performs other duties as needed Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in science or related discipline · 3+ years of management or supervisory experience · MT Certification Required · CPR Certification Required Required Skills/Abilities: · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Ability to organize and coordinate diverse activities · Demonstrated supervisory ability · Familiarity with state and federal regulations Hours: · Full Time Monday-Friday 9am-6pm Physical Requirements: · Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. · Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time Pay: From $58,000.00 per year Benefits Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Retirement plan Vision insurance Education: Bachelor's (Required) Experience: Management: 3 years (Required) License/Certification: Medical Technologist Certification (Required) CPR Certification (Required) Ability to Commute: Dallas, TX 75230 (Required) Work Location: In person
