The Organization:Sierra Management and Technologies, Inc.Sierra Management and Technologies, Inc.(Sierra), provides industry-leading technologies in software engineering and application development.We solve our nation's most complex, next-generation modernization and readiness challenges across defense, federal, and commercial markets.Sierra is a small, disadvantaged, minority-owned business that values its employees who provide superior services and solutions to our customers.Sierra has a proud history of hiring veterans and encourages those who have served in the armed forces to apply.Sierra is an honored recipient of the following awards:HIRE Vets Medallion Award VETS Indexes Employer Award About the Role:Sierra Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented Shipper/Packer for contingent hire in anticipation of the upcoming Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) contract award.This position supports the packaging and distribution of prescription medications at the CMOP facility in Ladson, South Carolina and will begin upon official contract award.The Shipper/Packer plays an essential role in ensuring prescriptions are packaged securely, accurately, and efficiently for shipment to Veterans nationwide while maintaining compliance with CMOP, VA, and federal standards.Work Structure & Schedule Work Type:Full-Time Federal Contract (contingent upon award) Location:On-site - VA CMOP Facility, Ladson, South Carolina Schedule:1st Shift:6:00 AM-2:30 PM; 2nd Shift:3:30 PM-12:00 AM Contract Duration:Approximately 5 years Packaging & Shipment Preparation Select appropriate shipping containers based on prescription type and handling requirements.Use excelsior or other packing materials to protect items from damage during transport.Insert required documentation, enclosures, and patient materials into containers.Close and seal containers accurately and securely.Apply shipping labels and ensure correct identifying information is entered or scanned.Equipment Operation & Workflow Support Operate automated and manual packaging equipment in accordance with CMOP guidelines.Read and interpret data from computer screens and operate scanning devices.Respond promptly to alarms, alerts, or interruptions in automated packaging systems.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.Inventory & Facility Support Monitor inventory of packaging supplies and notify leads when replenishment is needed.Support stock management activities, including restocking, rotating inventory, and checking expiration dates of pharmaceutical products.Serve as a facility runner to transport items, documents, or materials as needed.Compliance & Safety Follow all hazardous material and hazardous waste handling requirements in accordance with VA and federal regulations.Comply with CMOP, VA, OSHA, and institutional safety protocols.Maintain adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.This position is a McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) position.The current hourly rate is $20.17 per hour and is non-negotiable.What Makes a Successful Candidate:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.Must Haves:EDUCATION High School diploma or GED; Vocational training commensurate with Department of Labor functional description.EXPERIENCE Adequate experience performing the duties of the labor category as described in the Department of Labor functional description.Contract Specific Requirements and Experience:REQUIRED:Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds using rolling carts or pallet jacks.Must be able to stand for extended periods (8-10 hours).Must have the ability to lift totes weighing up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.Must have basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Must have the ability to read, understand, speak, and write English per 38 U.S.C.7402(d) and 7407(d).Must have the ability to read data from computer systems and operate scanning equipment.Must have knowledge of hazardous materials and hazardous waste handling precautions.Must be able to work flexible shifts; operational hours may expand to evenings, weekends, or split shifts based on workload demands or contingencies (e.g., inclement weather, equipment failures, emergencies, staffing shortages).Must be able to obtain a security clearance.Applicants must be able to pass a background check and meet all VA security and access requirements.What to expect in our process Apply by submitting a cover letter and resume for the position Interview with the Hiring Manager Reference checks and degree verification Offer We take care of our employees by providing the following Benefits:Flexible work schedules and remote/hybrid opportu
