Schedules diagnostic tests and therapists for patients and acts as a receptionist and resource person on the unit. May be assigned one role per shift or may be required to perform both roles during assigned shift. Essential Functions Reviews charts and maintains medical records. Records daily census record. Creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients and visitors and keeps nursing station neat and orderly. Answers unit telephones and transfers calls appropriately. Utilizes hospital paging system to contact physicians and staff. Responds to patient call light system. Performs delegated patient care activities under the direction of a registered nurse.
