Machinist / CNC Machinist Wanted – Grow With a Skilled Small Team Location: Riverdale, NJ Position: Full-Time Experience Level: Mid-Level to Experienced (motivated candidates eager to grow are encouraged to apply) We’re a small, well-established machine shop in Riverdale, NJ, looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our team. This is an opportunity to work in a supportive, hands-on environment where your work genuinely matters. We’re not looking for someone to not only push buttons — we want someone interested in the craft of machining, continuous improvement, and learning new equipment and processes. What You’ll Be Working On You’ll primarily be setting up and operating a Haas VF-4SS equipped with a TRT210 trunnion (full 5-axis). Our work involves a variety of precision-machined components, requiring attention to detail, strong setup skills, and a solid understanding of machining principles. Depending on experience and interest, there will also be opportunities to work with CNC turning equipment and Swiss-style machines. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes Program and modify CNC programs using CAM software Run and troubleshoot jobs independently Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T Select tooling, make offsets, and optimize machining processes Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot machining issues Maintain quality standards while working efficiently and safely Assist with assembly, finishing, or secondary operations as needed Contribute to a clean, organized, and team-oriented shop environment Qualifications Experience with CNC milling (3-axis required; 5-axis strongly preferred) Ability to independently set up and run CNC equipment Strong understanding of blueprint reading and machining practices Familiarity with CNC programming and CAM software Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills Experience with Fanuc, HAAS, & Mitsubishi, controls is a plus Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow Big Plus (But Not Required) Experience with turning or interest in learning it Familiarity with Swiss/screw machines such as: Citizen Cincom A16 Star SR-20JII Type B (HFT) Citizen Cincom L20 Type 10 Fusion 360 Solid Works Solid Cam Why Join Us?
