Job Summary HireCNC is seeking a CNC Programmer with strong 3-axis machining experience for a complex, low-volume machining environment supporting defense and aerospace-related projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys challenging machining work, problem solving, and programming complex parts instead of repetitive high-volume production. The position will initially focus on a defense project manufacturing weaponization kits for Black Hawk helicopters, including highly complex machined aluminum components produced in small batch quantities. Responsibilities Create and edit CNC programs offline from: Blueprints CAD models Support machining operations for complex aluminum components Work closely with machinists and manufacturing teams to improve machining processes Apply strong GD&T knowledge during programming and setup planning Support prototype and low-volume production environments Assist with process improvements and troubleshooting as needed Qualifications CNC Programming experience within a metal machining environment Strong understanding of GD&T Experience with low-volume, prototype, or high-complexity machining Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD models Experience with 3-axis programming/machining required Experience with Haas and/or Methods machines preferred CAM software experience required Mastercam experience highly transferable Open to candidates from other CAM backgrounds Preferred Background Aerospace or defense machining Prototype machining environments High-mix / low-volume manufacturing Complex aluminum machining experience Not a Good Fit For Candidates primarily from plastics machining environments Candidates whose experience is mostly high-volume production machining Project Information Defense manufacturing environment Manufacturing weaponization kits for Black Hawk helicopters Large, highly complex aluminum components Estimated production runs around 20-piece orders Candidate will likely focus on this project initially Benefits & Perks Competitive compensation Overtime opportunities Stable long-term opportunity Challenging technical work Team-oriented machining environment Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
