CNC Setup Operator

Job Description Job Description Position Summary The CNC Setup Operator will set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to produce high-quality machined components. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. This position is vital to ensuring on-time production while maintaining our standards for accuracy and quality. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and other machinery according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders. Monitor machine operation to ensure products meet quality standards. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines. Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges). Maintain clean and safe work areas, following all company and OSHA safety protocols. Collaborate with the Shop Foreman and production team to meet daily production goals. Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or machining program preferred. 5+ years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment and programming experience Experience with machining fasteners or precision components is a plus. Skills & Abilities Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Skilled in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges). Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Certifications (Preferred) CNC certification or machining program completion. OSHA 10/30 or other safety training. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise and machinery.
