Job Title: Coach (Various Sports/Positions) Wage/ Status: Exempt Department: Athletics HR Revised: March 2026 Reports to: Athletic Director GENERAL JOB SUMMARY The primary function of a Coach is to support the growth, development, and overall success of student-athletes through instruction, supervision, and leadership in the assigned sport(s). Coaches are expected to foster skill development, sportsmanship, accountability, teamwork, and character while positively representing Westlake Academy and intentionally applying the IB Learner Profile traits to athlete development, team culture, and daily coaching practices. Depending on the assigned role, coaches may also assist with or oversee program operations including communication, scheduling, travel, equipment, and team management. *This coaching position may be filled as a stipend-only coaching assignment. However, Westlake Academy may give priority consideration to current employees or candidates who are also being considered for approved full-time positions, based on program needs and staffing alignment. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree and Valid Texas teaching certificate, preferred Current certification in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Heat Illness Prevention, or willingness to obtain upon hire Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a valid Texas commercial driver's license (CDL) with Passenger (P), School Bus (S), and Air Brakes endorsements is preferred.
