Coating Technician (Located in Casper, WY) (PER-DIEM PLUS HOURLY WAGE) Granite Peak Fabrication's purpose is to design and build the best processing equipment in the oil and gas business! We offer competitive pay and opportunities for growth.We are a seeking experienced Coating Technicians for our Casper, Wyoming location.Minimum Job Requirements: 5years of protective coating application experience Candidate is familiar with NACE and SSPC industry standards Strong organization, communication and teamworking skills Take pride in executing with a high degree of accuracy and precision Ability to lift 50lbs and push/pull heavy objects Ability to perform maintenance, rebuild, troubleshoot Coating equipment Ability to prioritize tasks Initiative to be self-motivated yet be able to work with others Function well in a high-paced, and at times, stressful environment Job Responsibilities: Follow work instructions and material handling procedures without skipping any steps as the work produced must meet the highest standards for our customers. Review customer specifications, paint data sheets (PDS) and internal job travelers prior to starting. Work with QC on collecting working environment data prior to starting work to ensure the coating is mixed will be applied in acceptable tolerances per PDS. Apply protective masking and tape to protect surfaces that should not have coating applied to them.Ensure all surfaces are clear of debris and blast media. Provide communication to QC for all inspections.Confirm all Paint has correct Mils applied per PDS, no holidays showing, all runs sanded and repaired prior to calling for a QC inspection. Clean work area and all equipment after coatings are applied. Inform Paint Manager of upcoming project consumable needs. Responsible for the efficient, safe and effective shop loading and shift production Inform Paint Manager of all equipment failures, troubleshoot and provide solutions for repairs. Ensure QC has signed off on all project prior to arranging transportation of projects. Quality checks must be done periodically throughout the day.Any item not painted to GPF standards must be called out and corrected.Experience: Previous experience in a similar role preferred- Proficient in lean manufacturing principles- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings- Familiarity with hand tools and precision measuring instruments- Experience operating cranes, forklifts, welders, and machining tools- Knowledge of airless paint spraying techniques We offer competitive pay based on experience and skills.Benefits package includes health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.If you have the skills and experience we are looking for, please submit your application for consideration.We look forward to hearing from you!
