Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Mayor and Town Council or a designee of same, the Town Code Enforcement officer is a part-time (possibly leading to full time) position with the Town of Resaca whose job duties involve enforcing all Town codes, rules, laws, and ordinances including but not limited to the following ordinances: Nuisance and unfit property abatement; zoning; animal control; sewer; parking; business license; and railroad crossing (to name a few). Primary duties are to patrol to ensure compliance with all Town laws and ordinances, investigate complaints concerning Town ordinace violations, document violations, issue citations to ordinance violators, represent the Town in municipal civil and /or criminal court to testify as a witness and coordinates enforcement activities with key town departments. Key skills necessary for the job include interpreting local ordinances and effectively communication with public to gain compliance. Applicant must reside outside the limits of Gordon County, Georgia. Proir code enforcement officer experience preferred but no required. Work Location: In person
