Job Description
JOB Responsible for performing maintenance, repair and construction of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, pumps and controls, and associated piping in the wastewater collections system throughout Seminole County. Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description. Qualified candidates can expect to start at $20.00/hr. Additional compensation based on licensure. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Note: These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.Assist other staff and/or work independently in the maintenance, repair and construction of wastewater collections systems.Assigned responsibility; Perform preventive, predictive maintenance on lift stations and ARVs following SOP proceduresPerforms skilled tasks in the repair of pumps, valves, motor control, control panels, electric motors, floats, transducers, and related equipment.Clean wastewater collection systems; operate Vac trucks to flush collection systems; open blockages in lines; clean manholes and wet wells. Perform cleaning; CCTV inspections of sanitary pipelines and complete system assessments based on NASSCO PACP standardsRespond to customer complaints and inquiries regarding sewer overflows and stoppages; provide information to customers regarding Seminole County policies and proceduresInstall and maintenance of emergency power systems generators, ups systems, and installs by-pass pumping when required.Mow grass, trim shrubbery and perform housekeeping functions around lift station sites and wet wellsPerform general and major rebuilds and/or repair of hydraulic equipment and pumps.Installs, repairs and maintains electronic and electrical equipment in lift station control panels.Installs and repairs sewer collections pipelines and appurtenances.Operates various types of maintenance equipment to perform assigned job tasks.Completes required field paperwork. Documents work performed within a computerized work order management system.Responsible for adherence to proper safety standards and procedures. Responsible for maintaining all safety equipment and related recordsResponds to after-hour emergency call outs and participate in the after-hours on call schedule.Performs other duties as assigned.Additional DutiesIn the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Must have the ability to operate heavy equipment including, backhoe, ditch-witch, front-end loader, and other similar equipment. Must have the ability to operate small gas powered equipment such as a gas mower, tractor or other similar equipment.Must have the ability to read blue prints and maps.Must have normal color vision and hearing.Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Arc-Explorer or equivalent GIS computer programs.All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
