College and Career Readiness Bureau: Our Mission The College and Career Readiness Bureau (CCRB) of the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) is dedicated to providing New Mexico students with an educational foundation that takes them from primary school through secondary and postsecondary studies. Why does the job exist? The position exists to plan, direct, evaluate, coordinate and provide oversight for statewide programs and initiatives within the College and Career Readiness Bureau. How does it get done? The College and Career Readiness (CCR) Specialist provides leadership, technical assistance, and support for Career Technical Education to school districts and other educational entities. Key Responsibilities include: leadership to stakeholders (including schools/districts, community organizations, and other educational entities) that drives College and Career Readiness best practices in all bureau initiatives technical assistance for all assigned responsibilities that allows participants to effectively manage requirements support for career technical education that enables stakeholders to offer high-quality programs, which may include advisement and/or grant management such as approving budgets, requests for reimbursements, site monitoring, and data collection All CCR Specialists are expected to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on multiple initiatives. All work must align to the vision and mission of the College and Career Readiness Bureau, as well as the New Mexico Public Education Department's Strategic Plan. Who are the customers? Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Administration, or Business Administration and four (4) years of experience as a teacher and/or program administrator. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Working Conditions Office/cubicle setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting.
