Job Title: Electrician Reports to: Position Summary: Work consists of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industries. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities Maintain open communication with the Electrical Department Manager. Schedule and complete repairs and installations according to company priorities. Install new residential, commercial, and industrial service equipment Perform commercial & industrial troubleshooting, repairs, and installations Performs accurate daily time sheets Maintain and ensure the safe operating condition of assigned equipment and tools according to company policy and OSHA Perform skilled electrical maintenance and repair in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Supervise Electrical Contractors on large projects as assigned by Electrical Department Manager. Professional interaction with internal and external customers Follow all company policies Other duties as assigned Necessary Qualifications Current Driver’s License and have reliable transportation High School Graduate or holder of GED Four years of previous electrical experience One year foreman experience Positively identify colors of wires Comprehends drawings, prints and schematics Bend conduit by hand with benders Must be able to use all power tools, saw, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches Capable of digging trenches Operate equipment in a safe manner Ability to use electronic devices and programs (tablet, phone, email, etc.) for communication and documentation Practices and comprehends safe work procedures per Company Policy Operate two handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammer Operate company trucks Reads and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprint, and written instructions Operate and work from all types of lifts Work on energized circuits and equipment with Company Management approval as outlined in Safety Policy Working Conditions: Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities Job requires employees to always have personal tools with them Work from all types of ladders and adhere to ladder safety protocols. Step ladders up to 14’ and 16’, “A” frame ladders and various sizes of extension ladders. Ability to carry and relocate up to 12’ step ladder by yourself Perform work at various heights (up to 90’) from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other areas Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics) Wear personal protective equipment, PPE (hard hat, work boots, safety glasses, gloves) respirator when required Job requires repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required and night shifts Physical Demands: Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead Must be able to lift up to 51 pounds Constantly moving feet Climb (ladders all types) Ability to work from heights Complete overhead work, full day assignments Transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of building, even if they only availability of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use Possess good vision (normal or corrected) Exposure to all elements inside and out Secure tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks Travel Moderate travel is required for this position · Within the Ables Service area Benefits: Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Generous 401K Match Life, Disability & Accident Insurance Paid Holidays Paid Vacation Days Paid Sick/Personnel Time Tool Purchase Program Company Outings Annual Bonuses Apprentice Program Referral Bonus Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
