Job Description
Overview Connect & Company's Community Outreach Specialist is a part-time evolving into a full-time position in our growing PR agency focused on providing community outreach for large transportation infrastructure projects.The ideal candidate must be able to converse and translate written documents in Spanish and support our team in developing, implementing and overseeing important elements of communication and outreach programs to cultivate community support and build public trust for our projects.Work is remote based, with some nighttime meetings, and requires travel to projects in Riverside County at least one day each week.The position revolves around day-to-day project management, community outreach, digital strategy and engagement, collateral development, database research and management, and event management.A high value will be placed on the ability to manage details for a variety of projects and timelines while providing exceptional client service.The Community Outreach Specialist will perform a variety of tasks such as grass-roots community outreach; developing construction alerts and updates; website and alert system management; research and database development; construction hotline management; social media strategy and content development; photography and video management; public meeting and event planning, coordination and staffing; and budget development and cost tracking.Candidates should be thoughtful, engaging, creative, motivated, technologically savvy and highly organized with a passion for community outreach. Responsibilities Provide community relations, collateral development, social media strategy and communication services for multiple transportation infrastructure construction projects Cultivate community support and build public trust for projects through targeted outreach, canvassing, one-on-one meetings, group meetings and public events Manage client-related research and stakeholder database development Develop accurate and engaging content for alerts/updates, social media posts, websites, presentations, videos and other collateral materials Coordinate with graphic designer for collateral development Plan and implement engaging social media campaigns; complete social media tracking; measure success Coordinate and staff public meetings, open houses, workshops and special events Provide excellent client service Ability to communicate verbally in Spanish and translate written documents Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Spanish speaking and written translation Stakeholder relationship cultivation skills Ability to interpret technical information Strong listening and conflict resolution skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work under tight deadlines Confidence to take initiative and problem solve Interest in social media and technology Experience with Canva; content creation and social post development; experience publishing to multiple social platforms Experience with Wordpress, website management and copy development practices; ability to coordinate with a website developer Experience monitoring multiple platforms:social accounts, emails, hotlines, websites Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, with a flexible schedule Must be able to lift 25 lbs.and complete door-to-door canvassing The candidate must maintain reliable transportation with required insurance, a valid California Driver License and ability to travel to construction jobsites throughout Riverside County.Pay:$30.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours:29.0 - 40.0 per week Work Location:Hybrid remote in Riverside, CA 92505.
