Companion Aide

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Companion Aide to provide support and assistance to individuals in need of care. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and other memory-related conditions. The Companion Aide will work closely with clients in their home or community settings, ensuring they receive the necessary care while promoting independence and dignity. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to established guidelines. Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Support clients with mobility needs, including lifting or transferring individuals safely. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Monitor client behavior and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Assist with medication reminders and ensure that clients follow their prescribed routines. Foster a supportive relationship with clients while respecting their privacy and dignity. Requirements Experience working with the senior population is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices and memory care techniques is highly desirable. Ability to follow care plans effectively and adapt to changing client needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Physical capability to assist clients as needed while adhering to safety protocols.
