Job Description
Summit High School is looking for a Computer Science/Engineering teacher for the 2026/2027 school year.Candidates with industry experience and BA/MA may qualify for licensure.Teacher designs and delivers engaging, real-world learning experiences in computer science, including programming, cybersecurity, software development, and data systems, emphasizing computational thinking and problem-solving.Facilitates project-based instruction where students apply coding and technology to solve authentic challenges.Also teaches engineering and advanced manufacturing, including design, CAD, robotics, fabrication, and systems integration, guiding students through the engineering design process to build, test, and refine solutions using industry tools.Supports students in developing technical skills, collaboration, and career readiness aligned to postsecondary pathways, including concurrent enrollment and industry credentials.Collaborates with staff and community partners to expand work-based learning opportunities and ensure equitable access to high-quality, future-ready learning experiences.Plans instruction and assessment aligned with District learner outcomes and State achievement standards.Supervises assigned students and maintains a positive learning environment.Adapt instruction to meet the individual learning needs of all students resulting in an increased probability of advancing their achievement.Primary professional efforts are directed toward the development and success of their individual professional goals and specifically towards instructional improvement and the development of expertise in all areas of instruction.Maintain positive inter-personal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.Bachelor's degree required.Active teacher authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado.Must be Highly Qualified according to the Colorado's definition of a Highly Qualified teacher under the No Child Left Behind Act (effective January 1, 2004 for current teachers and 2002-03 for newly hired teachers).Endorsement in the area(s) of teaching assignment preferred.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Effective time management and organizational skills.For all positions, experience is determined by years of work in the same job title.Experience that is similar but not the same job may be calculated at a 3:1 credit for years of experience.Year of Experience shall be whole numbers and not partial years.Job Type:Part-time Pay:$54,500.00 - $69,000.00 per year Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Retirement plan Vision insurance Physical Setting:Public school Education:Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience:Computer Science / Engineering :3 years (Required) License/Certification:Colorado Teaching License?
