Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $50,000-$75,000 Construction EstimatorW.B Guimarin, one of South Carolinas largest, family-owned full-service Mechanical Contractors with over 120 years of continual service, currently has an opportunity for an experienced construction cost estimator.Responsibilities: Prepare accurate and timely estimates for Pipe, Plumbing and Duct from contract drawings and specifications Utilize, Pro Core , Build Connect, Excel, and other proprietary software Track all addendums and revisions prior to bid time Work with engineering and project management to achieve accurate design and efficiency, Maintaining constant communication. Will be involved throughout the estimating, bidding (onscreen takeoffs), vendor and subcontractor proposal review and purchasing processes. Ability to develop detailed quantity take-offs. Develop bid packages / contract scopes of work for subcontractors, evaluate subcontractor bids and issue contracts. Performs new equipment takeoffs. Prepares equipment submittals. Assists Managers and Project Managers with technical support. Performs construction plan review or other requirements as determined by project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all of the customers facility requirements. Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer. Coordinates selection, pricing, and integrates equipment, controls, and services for each project. Prepares, finalizes, and reviews preliminary and/or final proposal / submittal complete. Resolves major deviations from scope with team after Project Scope Validation. Helps Manager develop project fulfillment schedule with project team. Prepares and reviews contract terms and conditions using standard contract templates when applicable. Works with team members to solicit proper expertise in order to meet customer needs. Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time. Qualifications and Requirements Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints and construction plans and specifications. Strong communication skills both verbal and written Strong work ethic. Proficient with all Microsoft Office related products. Two year Arch/Eng design related degree or prior pipe, plumbing and HVAC estimating experience.
