Elmington Construction, a thriving builder, embarked on its journey in 2017 with a commitment to excellence and a growth mindset.Over the past three years, we've experienced impressive year-over-year growth ranging from 30% to 40%, a testament to our entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to delivering quality projects.All activities will be performed in support of the values of Elmington Construction.Integrity Precision Growth Driven Relationships Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Communication Skills Basic Mathematical Skills Problem Solving Skills Knowledge of construction & rough carpentry ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Builds rough wooden structures, such as vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, Johnny clamp forms, scaffolds, tunnel, bridge, or sewer supports, according to sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions Models safety as a core guiding principle and brings safety concerns to the Superintendent Works at elevated heights, frequently lift materials weighing up to 50lbs and work in outside all weather conditions Plans, lays out, installs forms, rebar, embeds, anchor bolts, and concrete in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.Uses appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, assemble and install forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts.Constructs built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms, according to specifications for molding concrete structures.Erects built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms.Inserts spreaders and tie-rods between opposite pieces to maintain specific dimensions.Anchors and braces forms to fixed objects using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks and timber.Builds wooden structures such as scaffold supports and frame shelters according to specifications and project specifications.Pours concrete into finished forms to specified textures; vibrate, level, smooth and shape surface of concrete.Finishes concrete surfaces to specifications; remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer and patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound; and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications.The above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.The description shall not, however, be construed as a complete listing of all miscellaneous, incidental, or similar duties which may be required from day-to-day.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to work outside on construction site including all types of weather (extremes of hot/cold) You will be working in a temporary facility/structure Able to stand; crawl; climb ladders & stairs; balance; stoop and kneel; etc (physical activities associated with construction sites) You must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus You frequently work near moving mechanical parts.You occasionally work in high, precarious places and are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.You should be able to recognize these hazards or potential hazards a react accordingly to protect the workforce and provide OSHA compliant safeguards Lastly, we're creating a different kind of company at Elmington.We promise we will never be ordinary (hopefully evidenced by this job description).There will be many days you simply aren't comfortable.You will be pushed to accomplish more than you ever thought possible.You will be challenged by your coach and peers to achieve more and to find a better ways.With that said, we know Elmington is not for everyone.BUT, if you believe in yourself, enjoy a challenge, and appreciate working with exceptional people, then Elmington could very well be the last company you ever work for.The company will recruit, hire, train, promote, and compensate its employees based upon factors such as work quality, behavior, training, and experience.In compliance with local, state, and federal laws, we provide equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, protected age category, gender, sexual orientation, religion, marital status, military status, or physical or mental disability of any individual who is otherwise qualified.#EC123 Job Type:Full-time Pay:$24.00 - $27.00 per hour Ability to Commute:Columbus, OH 43268 (Required) Ability to Relocate:Columbus, OH 43268:Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location:In person.
