Job Description
Position Summary The General Laborer performs a variety of physical labor tasks in support of Valley Corporation construction operations.This position assists crews, equipment operators, and supervisors with site preparation, material handling, and general job site duties to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.Essential Functions Perform general labor duties including site setup, cleanup, and material handling Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling activities Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment Operate hand tools and small power tools as directed Support equipment operators and skilled trades with daily tasks Install and remove temporary fencing, barricades, erosion control, and safety signage Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site at all times Follow all Valley Corporation safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job-specific safety plans Report safety hazards, incidents, or damaged equipment immediately Perform other duties as assigned based on project needs Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic knowledge of construction tools and job site practices preferred Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take direction Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active job sites Dependable attendance and punctuality Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior construction or labor experience preferred, but not required Physical Demands The physical demands described below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position:Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 100 pounds; heavier items with assistance Prolonged standing and walking throughout the workday Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing Ability to work on uneven terrain, in trenches, and around heavy equipment Repetitive use of hands and arms to handle tools and materials Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required Work Environment Primarily outdoor construction environments Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dust Exposure to noise, vibration, and moving machinery Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility apparel, and steel-toed boots Valley Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.Employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business needs, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law Pay:$22.00 - $24.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance On-the-job training Opportunities for advancement Profit sharing Referral program Vision insurance Experience:Construction:1 year (Preferred) Work Location:In person.
