Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated Construction Inspector to join our Transportation Group.Grow your career with us.Learn with us.Thrive with us.Established in 1900, Mead & Hunt is a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm.Our planning, design and construction services are available to clients across a wide variety of sectors.From architecture, food/beverage processing, and federal to transportation, water infrastructure and more, our unique methodologies deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions that elevate clients and communities.Here at Mead & Hunt, our culture is about taking care of people, doing the right thing, and doing what makes sense.We are a flexible company that believes in giving back to our communities.We are employee-owned and support initiatives through our various employee programs.We invest in our employees and build relationships that last.Responsibilities include:Inspect Transportation Construction Projects:Ensure all work and materials meet project plans, proposals, and specifications Perform Key Measurements & Calculations:Verify weights, volumes, and measurements to ensure accuracy Conduct Materials Testing & Sampling:Ensure materials meet quality standards throughout the project lifecycle Daily Documentation:Record all inspection activities and findings in detailed reports Work Outdoors:Enjoy the variety of working in different weather conditions and environments Physical Responsibilities:Be prepared for heavy lifting and manual tasks as part of the inspection process Independent Work:Take ownership of your tasks and work with minimal supervision Flexible Hours & Travel:Expect extended hours and occasional overnight stays as part of the role A valid driver's license is required.The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:An associate degree (or higher) in Construction Management or related field is preferred Ability to obtain certifications Experience reading engineering plans Experience reading and understanding technical reports Why Mead & Hunt?
