Job Description
Normal work hours 5AM to end of requirement, typically between 1:30 and 3:30 PM. Construction Material Handler / Driver (Shop, Delivery & Equipment Support) Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused person to support daily field and shop operations. This position is responsible for delivering materials and equipment to construction job sites, maintaining shop organization, assisting with equipment upkeep, and supporting project teams with logistics and minor purchasing activities. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, organized, comfortable operating trucks and trailers, forklifts, and able to work in both shop and active construction site environments. Essential Responsibilities Deliver and pick up construction materials, tools, and equipment from jobsites and vendors Safely operate company trucks, flatbed trailers, forklifts, and related equipment Assist with loading, unloading, securing, and transporting materials Purchase jobsite materials and supplies as directed Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and inventory control Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles, trailers, welders, lifts, and small equipment Maintain tool inventories, inspection records, and maintenance logs Support field crews with logistics and operational needs Follow all OSHA, DOT, company safety, and site-specific safety requirements Communicate professionally with employees, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, CDL preferred Class A, B or C Ability to pass DOT medical examination and maintain medical card Experience safely operating forklifts and delivery vehicles, including trailers and towed equipment Basic mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge Basic math and communication skills Ability to lift up to 80 pounds Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights up to 50 feet This position is classified as safety-sensitive Pre-employment drug screening, background screening, and motor vehicle record review may be required consistent with applicable law.
