No experience required.Plus, earn certifications that create pathways towards a high-paying union/non-union construction apprenticeship and career.Certifications include Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) pre-apprenticeship certification as well as OSHA certification.PYB is offering a paid, seven to nine week, state-certified pre-apprenticeship construction position with hands-on training from top industry professionals starting May 19th, 2026.Our Bridge to Construction Program offers a financial incentive equaling $15 per hour, with additional incentives and leadership opportunities available.Program requirements:Residency in either Multnomah or Washington County, Oregon Completion of GED or high school diploma Commitment to attending the following program schedule:Tuesday through Friday:8am - 3:30pm Getting started at Portland YouthBuilders can lead to direct or preferred entry into high-paying union and non-union apprenticeships and other employment opportunities through our many industry partners.After successful completion of PYB's Bridge to Construction Program, you will experience and/or obtain:Personalized career coaching along with job placement and job readiness skills; Comprehensive understanding of basic/intermediate/advanced construction and math skills, blueprint reading and exposure to many different trades; Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) pre-apprenticeship certificate; CPR and first-aid certificate OSHA 10 safety certificate Green Building certificate from Earth Advantage Overview of the construction process from start to finish There's never been a better time to get into a career in construction.Skilled labor in the construction industry is in high demand and construction companies are offering entry-level positions at a living wage.Please email PYB's admissions team for more information or to apply for the program.Connect with us today!
