Job Description
Job Summary Established Vero Beach, Florida, General Contractor (20 plus years) is seeking a Construction Superintendent experienced in residential and commercial projects to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Construction Superintendent will coordinate all on-site activities, supervise multiple construction teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth workflow and timely delivery. Oversee site safety programs, enforce OSHA standards, and conduct regular safety inspections to maintain a secure work environment. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to guide on-site operations effectively. Manage project scheduling using construction management software such as BuildersTrend to track progress and adjust plans as needed. Monitor project budgets, control costs, and assist with construction estimating to stay within financial targets. Conduct quality control inspections, document progress and ensure compliance with specifications. Supervise and mentor construction staff and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on excellence. Maintain detailed records of daily activities, change orders, contracts, and safety reports for project documentation. Skills Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising high end residential and light commercial projects. Proficiency in construction management software such as BuildersTrend or similar tools. Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety. Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating techniques. Familiarity with contract management and project scheduling methodologies. Hands-on experience with residential and light commercial projects is highly required. Strong management skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality control.
