Construction Tech I Working Title - Construction Tech I Department - USMARC-0937 Posting Open Date - 02/02/2026 Application Review Date: (To ensure consideration, please submit all application materials before review date) - 02/17/2026 Posting Close Date Open Until Filled - Yes Description of Work - The U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) is a 34,000-acre facility near Clay Center, NE. The work performed at USMARC supports research that is focused on solving high priority problems for the U.S. beef cattle, sheep, and swine industries. As a Construction Tech I, you will: Assist Construction Supervisor with new construction, repair, and maintenance of existing facilities which includes remote buildings, livestock working facilities, livestock water systems and monitoring and maintaining of waste lift stations. This includes, but is not limited to, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, concrete and welding. Position requires irregular hours, work in inclement weather, and work in livestock facilities. Knowledge and skills to provide support in one of multiple construction trade areas. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Preferred Qualifications - The following qualifications are preferred, but not required: Experience and/or training in multiple construction trades. Machinery operations and maintenance skills. Experience working with and around livestock preferred.
