Controller and Vice President, Real Estate Fund Accounting and Reporting About the Company Accomplished real estate investment management firm Industry Real Estate Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is in search of a Controller and Vice President for Real Estate Fund Accounting and Reporting. This pivotal leadership role involves overseeing all accounting and reporting activities for a diversified, core open-end real estate fund. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team that handles property and fund-level controls, providing oversight on acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures, and collaborating with various internal departments on special projects. The role also includes mentoring and managing staff, leading the preparation of audit deliverables, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Applicants must have 10-15 years' of experience in real estate fund or portfolio accounting/audit, with a strong preference for those with a public accounting background, particularly from a Big 4 firm. An active CPA is required, and experience with MRI or Yardi is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing teams, working in multi-entity environments, and possess strong analytical, Excel, and data management skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to engage directly with investors and identify opportunities for process improvement and technology adoption.
