Job Title: ControllerJob Description The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance functions. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supports strategic decision-making, and maintains compliance with all applicable federal, state (including New York), and local regulations. The Controller partners closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance and operational efficiency, while building strong accounting processes that support continued growth. Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Prepare, review, and analyze profit and loss statements and other financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of supporting schedules. Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state (including New York), and local financial, tax, and payroll regulations. Manage and oversee payroll processes, including union payroll and certified payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant requirements. Oversee job costing and project accounting, ensuring costs are accurately captured, allocated, and reported for skilled trades operations. Develop, maintain, and improve financial reporting to support executive leadership in strategic and operational decision-making.
