Job Description
The Role: Our client is searching a Controller to their Finance Team. Reporting to our CFO, the Controller will be responsible for the execution of corporate-wide accounting, controls, and external financial reporting activities in support of the company’s objectives. You will set accounting policies and ensure consistent application according to generally accepted accounting principles ensuring accuracy in the company’s financial results. You must have comprehensive experience with the preparation of financial statements, driving financial initiatives, planning, GL, AR, AP and invoicing. This role requires a capable and highly driven individual with the desire to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The successful candidate is a well-rounded leader with strategic influence, sound business acumen and a collaborative style. Specific Responsibilities Include: Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions Manage and support the Finance team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity Help develop and support short- and long-term corporate finance strategies Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows Experience Required: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Experience as a corporate Controller Strong leadership experience Experience working in Accounting ERP, and QuickBooks a plus. Experience in Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Accounting Closings and reporting Comprehensive knowledge of accounts, accounts receivables, invoicing and financial modeling Excellent interpersonal, customer service, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills Team player with a collaborative spirit, cooperative attitude, and ability to work in collaboration with multiple departments Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on meeting deadlines and addressing urgent situations Strong analytical skills
