Position Summary As a Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, troubleshooting, and enhancement of process control systems within an industrial manufacturing plant. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities, including engineering electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems, performing PLC/HMI hardware/software design and programming, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory protocols. Primary Duties And Responsibilities Design and troubleshoot process control systems. Engineer, design and test electrical, instrumentation and automation systems associated with industrial manufacturing plant. PLC/HMI hardware/software design, programming, and troubleshooting. Develop and engineer electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and PLC logic. Design and implement process network infrastructure (Ethernet, Device Net, Control Net, etc.). Interface and communicate with vendors, process engineering, installation contractors and project management. Specify and procure controls hardware and field instrumentation. Database programming skills a plus. (SCADA) Compliance and enforcement of company, safety, environmental, governmental policies and regulations as they apply. Understand and assist in application of company safety procedures, Lock & Tag, and Arc Flash. Other duties as assigned Required Skills Strong understanding of PLC ladder logic, programming methods, and process related control systems. (Allen Bradley Micro Logix, RS Logix 500 and Control Logix Platforms) Ability to design/enhance HMI applications. Ability to examine complex electrical problems, identify source of problems, determine method for repair; plan and organize work; complete complex electrical tasks by using and understanding Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic drawings and schematics. Knowledge of automation (PLC) and electrical system design, diagnosis and operation. Knowledge of applicable Electrical Code. Ability to operate various power, voltage and current measurement equipment via test instruments and hand tools. Employee schedules vary based on each project and may require irregular or extended hours. Able to communicate effectively with employees in a professional and friendly manner. Able to work independently as a productive member of a team. Will follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job under minimal supervision. Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Preferred) 5 to 8 years of experience in the electrical & controls engineering field Demonstrated Control Systems competency. Well versed in Microsoft office programs SQL Database knowledge preferred For informational purposes only the range of pay for this role is $103300 to $140000US Dollar (USD)Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only this role is eligible to participate in the Companys Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Companys bonus multiple based on the Companys performance in the applicable quarter.
