Key Responsibilities: Follow recipes for grilling, frying, and assembling dishes with authentic spices and halal proteins. Assist in daily prep, including marinating meats and portioning ingredients. Maintain halal standards through proper tool segregation, labeling, and logging. Clean and organize workstations, equipment, and storage areas post-shift. Support the team during rushes to ensure timely order fulfillment. Mandatory Qualifications & Experience: 1+ year in a kitchen role, with basic cooking skills (e.g., knife handling, grilling). Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Physical ability to stand for 8+ hours, lift 50 lbs, and multitask. Dependable with a positive team attitude. Preferred Qualifications & Experience: 2+ years in Mediterranean or halal-focused kitchens. Experience with high-volume prep and equipment like rotisseries or fryers. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) for better team coordination. Desired Education & Certifications: Certificate in Culinary Arts from local programs like Elijah’s Promise Culinary School, Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC), or Community College of Philadelphia (CCP); or hands-on apprenticeship. Mandatory: ServSafe Food Handler Certification (will help obtain within 30 days). Preferred: Basic food allergen training or halal certification from HFSAA.
