Job Description
We are looking for a quick and organized short order cook who can handle all aspects of food preparation in a high-volume setting. The short order cook's responsibilities include grilling and frying foods, keeping food preparation areas clean, stocking, and the ability to execute a diverse menu individually. ServSafe certification, or similar, is needed, but can be obtained upon employment. To be a successful short order cook, you should have good time management skills as well as the ability to work quickly and multitask during busy periods. You should also be prepared to stand for long periods of time, be able to effectively communicate, and be able to lift up to 50lbs. Cook Responsibilities: Preparing food to guests specifications within a timely manner. Grilling, baking, and frying foods. Planning and managing guest checks to ensure all items of an order are finished and served at the same time. Mindful and clean plate presentation. Performing food preparation tasks and stocking. Rotating food with proper FIFO procedures. Cleaning food preparation equipment and areas. Cook Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent. On-the-job training in food preparation and sanitation techniques. The ability to multi-task and work quickly, efficiently, and accurately. ServSafe certified (can be accomplished post-hire). Strong communication, teamworking, and customer service skills. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
