Position Overview The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating menu items according to restaurant standards. This role ensures consistency, quality, and efficiency in food preparation while maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Key Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas. Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner. Monitor food stock levels and communicate shortages or needs to the Head Chef or Sous Chef. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly. Support other kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure smooth service. Participate in daily kitchen setup and closing procedures. Qualifications Proven experience as a line cook or relevant role in a fast-paced kitchen. Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Understanding of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene standards. Culinary or equivalent experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced environment. Work Schedule Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations. Compensation Competitive hourly wage based on experience plus tips.
