Job Description
Description Position Overview: The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials, supplies, and products throughout the manufacturing process. This position involves receiving, storing, and distributing raw materials and finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production operations. The ideal candidate will be able to multi task and and work as a team player and have excellent fork lift safety skills. Roles & Responsibilities: Communicates effectively and efficiently with all employees to determine materials needed for production Reviews documentation before picking to ensure the correct part is being picked Ability to use hand-held scanners to scan materials in and out of the warehouse and various locations Performs inventory cycle counts when requested Dispose of rejected or damaged parts as requested Exchange empty scrap containers from machines as needed Oversee and provide specific materials to machines to assist with the efficient process flow Safely operates various pieces of warehouse equipment (Forklifts etc.) Operates a company computer to access, enter, and correct information Prepares damage claims for supervisor’s review and signature Must be able to work in Hot and Cold conditions as you will be required to travel in and outside of the building Maintain a clean and safe working environment Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor Requirements: Qualifications and Education Requirements: High school diploma/GED Minimum of 1 year warehouse experience required Minimum of 1 year material handling experience required Must be able to speak, read, and write English Ability to work overtime as needed Competent in the operation of a forklift and other material handling equipment and have current license to operate a forklift Basic math skills Be able to maintain an excellent attendance record Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision Physical Demands & Work Environment: The work environment characteristics are as described while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to varied temperatures due to working in a non-air-conditioned facility. In addition, the employee is regularly exposed to oil, grease, dust, odors, fumes, loud noise environment, and may work near moving mechanical parts. The work environment is not climate controlled. Ability to lift/push/pull weight from 10 to 50 lbs. Ability to stand/walk/move for up to 10 hours Must be able to perform movements such as lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, standing, and walking Must be able to climb up and down, as well as work using a ladder Employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts Ability to go up to heights of 30 feet on equipment Perform loading and unloading of trucks safely Repetitive Motion Ability to use hand/power tools (i.e. hammer, electric drill)
